CMR Clinical Research Group - Leeds

TRAINING

The Leeds CMR Clinical Research Group runs a twice yearly introductory course for those with a developing interest in CMR. In addition, we provide CMR training for Clinical Fellows and Research Fellows.

Course objectives

Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging is increasingly available and used clinically in many areas of cardiological and radiological practice. Also, training in CMR is now a formal requirement of the cardiology and radiology basic curricula in the UK. Thus, for all trainees and practitioners in cardiology and radiology, knowledge of the common indications for CMR imaging and a basic understanding of the information provided by this imaging modality is increasingly important.

Our course aims to present the basics of CMR methodology and its daily applications. The focus of the course is very firmly clinical and all lectures will be presented in a case-based format. Lectures will be highly interactive and each is followed by a question and answer session. All participants will get the opportunity to be involved in scanning patients. A hand-picked faculty of speakers from across the UK ensure presentations of the highest standard.

Current Course dates:

May 14th 2012 – 50 cases course
October 1st and 2nd 2012 – 2 day course
